Loudoun Chamber Congratulates Governor-elect McDonnell and all 2009 Virginia election winners

Chamber President cites focus on economy, transportation, free enterprise as main reason for victors’ electoral success in statewide, House of Delegates races

Lansdowne, VA – The President of the Loudoun County Chamber of Commerce today offered his congratulations to Governor-elect Bob McDonnell and to all of the winning candidates in the 2009 statewide and House of Delegates races.

Loudoun County Chamber President Tony Howard praised the victorious candidates for emphasizing the importance of job and economic growth, and investment in Virginia’s vast infrastructure needs as the primary reasons for their success.

“The Loudoun County business community congratulates each of the candidates who emerged victorious on Election Day 2009. These candidates conducted issue-focused campaigns that appealed to Virginian’s fervent desire to provide good jobs for our citizens, a world class education for our children and an outstanding business climate for all, said Howard.

“When Bob McDonnell stood before the Loudoun business community on October 6th, he emphasized the need to invest in our economy by building on the achievements that made Virginia America’s best state to do business. His emphasis on allowing the private sector to continue to drive Virginia’s success clearly resonated with the voters. For that reason, he was elected the 71st Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia,” said Howard.

“Now that the campaigns are over, our work begins again. The Loudoun County Chamber is prepared to work with our elected leaders in Richmond to help the Commonwealth make the investments necessary to ensure Virginia remains our nation’s finest place to live, work and raise a family,” Howard added.
