Loudoun County Chamber of Commerce welcomes Tim Hemstreet as the new Loudoun County Administrator

Chamber promises to continue effort begun under Kirby Bowers to work with County staff on issues impacting Loudoun’s business climate and quality of life

Lansdowne, VA – The President of the Loudoun County Chamber of Commerce today offered congratulations to Tim Hemstreet on his selection as the new Loudoun County Administrator.

A native of Northern Virginia and a graduate of James Madison University, Mr. Hemstreet is leaving his post as Assistant City Administrator for the City of Miami Beach to take Loudoun County’s top staff position. Selected from a pool of more than qualified 150 candidates after a nationwide search, Hemstreet replaces Kirby M. Bowers, who retired in April 2009 after serving as Loudoun County Administrator for 17 years.

“On behalf of the Board of Directors of the Loudoun County Chamber of Commerce and our more than 1,200 member companies, it is my privilege to congratulate Tim Hemstreet on his selection as the new County Administrator in Loudoun,” said Chamber President Tony Howard.

Howard promised to extend the Chamber’s commitment to maintain the strong working relationship that existed with former County Administrator Bowers and his leadership staff.

“Under Kirby Bowers leadership, the Chamber worked closely with the county’s senior staff to offer guidance on the critical issues that are impacting our community’s economic competitiveness and quality of life,” Howard sad. “Whether the issue was economic development, transportation investments or emergency preparedness, the Chamber was privileged to support Mr. Bowers’ work to achieve consensus solutions. We are privileged to extend the same offer of help and support to Mr. Hemstreet.”

“On the major challenges confronting our community, the Loudoun County Chamber is ready to draw upon the collective expertise insight of our members to assist Mr. Hemstreet and his team as they tackle the formidable challenges presented by ever-increasing service demands and declining tax revenues,” Howard said.
